Jonathan Sells is a professional stone carver and mason who works from his studio at Corfe Castle, Dorset, where he happily undertakes hand carved stonework commissions including fireplaces, garden furniture, water features, birdbaths, functional artefacts for inside and out, wedding and birth gifts etc. Letter cutting and restoration work can also be carried out.

The framework for the body was constructed using marine quality stainless steel and galvanised chicken mesh, then built up with car body filler, professionally spray painted using 6 layers of paint and finally coated with 4 coats of clear laquer. These particular materials were used as the cormorant is sited on a balcony overlooking the sea and is open to all elements.
